Pizzawiz Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 8, 2026
Pizzawiz ("Pizzawiz", "we", "us") is a mobile app for tracking the pizzerias
you visit, collecting passport stamps, and sharing your pizza journey. This
policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the
choices you have.
Information We Collect
-
Account information. If you create an account, we collect
your email address, or basic profile information (such as your name) if you
sign in with Google or Apple. Creating an account is optional — the app is
fully usable without one, in which case your data stays only on your device.
-
Profile information you provide. Nickname, home region,
favorite pizza style, and a profile photo, if you choose to add them.
-
Location. With your permission, we use your device's
location to show nearby pizzerias on the map and to verify that a check-in
happened at the pizzeria's real location. Location is only accessed while
you're using the app for these features.
-
Map locations you pick. When you add a pizzeria or
suggest an address change, you place a pin on a map and may type an
address; we store the address and pin location you submit.
-
Photos. Photos you choose to attach to a check-in, taken
with your camera or selected from your photo library. We only access photos
you explicitly choose to share.
-
User content. Check-in notes, ratings, pizzerias you add,
and any corrections you submit through "Suggest an Edit" for a pizzeria's
information (such as phone number, opening hours, or address).
-
Business claim information. If you claim a pizzeria you
run, we collect the name, position, and contact phone number you enter
and, for video verification, a short video you record. This is used only
to verify your claim (for mail verification, to post a letter with a
code to the pizzeria's listed address).
-
Push notifications and in-app notifications. If you turn
on push notifications, we store a push token that identifies your device
with the notification service, along with your app language, so we can tell
you when something you submitted has been reviewed. You can turn this off
in Profile at any time, and signing out removes the token from your
account. Notifications about your submissions are also shown in the app
and kept for 60 days.
-
Advertising identifiers. Unless you're a VIP member
(ads are turned off for VIP), we show banner ads through Google
AdMob, which uses your device's advertising identifier (iOS: IDFA,
after you allow tracking when asked; Android: Advertising ID) to
serve ads. See
how Google uses this data
.
We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs at this time.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate core features: check-ins, your passport, and stats
- To verify check-ins by comparing your location to the pizzeria's address
- To sync your data across your devices when you're signed in
- To improve the accuracy of pizzeria information, using edit suggestions and pizzerias added by users
- To review business claims and notify you of review results
- To generate the shareable image when you choose to share a check-in
Data Storage & Third-Party Services
Account data, check-ins, and profile information are stored using
Supabase,
our backend and database provider. If you sign in with Google or Apple, those
companies process your sign-in according to their own privacy policies.
Maps are drawn with OpenStreetMap
data; when you view a map, OpenStreetMap's servers receive your device's
IP address to deliver map tiles. When you type an address or place a pin
while adding a pizzeria or suggesting an edit, that address or location is
sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to find the matching location
and an English address. Push notifications are delivered through
Expo's
push service together with Apple Push Notification service (iOS) or
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android).
Unless you're a VIP member, ads are served through
Google AdMob,
which may use your advertising identifier to select ads to show you.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data Retention & Deletion
If you use the app without an account, your data is stored only on your
device and is removed if you uninstall the app. If you create an account,
your data is retained until you delete it. You can delete your account and
all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile > Delete
My Account) — this immediately and permanently removes your account,
check-ins, photos, and profile information. You can also contact us at
the email below if you'd rather we do it for you.
Children's Privacy
Pizzawiz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export,
or delete your personal information. Contact us using the details below to
exercise these rights.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll post any updates on this
page with a new effective date.
